Making construction safety measurable

Challenge
Construction crews run Toolbox Talks daily or weekly to prevent incidents, but SafetyHQ's compliance data was scattered across the product. Safety managers had no way to see whether teams were actually conducting and attending talks, which meant no way to know if the company's culture genuinely prioritized worker safety.
Approach
We designed a dashboard suite built for how safety managers actually investigate: a compliance overview with overdue and assigned talks, topic analytics with month-over-month trends, performance tables surfacing top foremen and highest-risk workers, and an activity log. With limited access to end users, the design was validated in close collaboration with subject matter experts, and shipped with new components from filtering interfaces to enhanced chart tooltips.
Results
Customers using SafetyHQ's Toolbox Talks reported a 78% reduction in TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) and a 79% lower DART rate. Compliance stopped being a guess and became a number on a dashboard.
Impact
SafetyHQ now differentiates on the combination of its Toolbox Talks library and company-wide compliance tracking, helping enterprises avoid OSHA scrutiny, insurance costs, and, above all, worker injuries.
